Ever since I was a kid, I've always been that quiet lad who always kept to himself, not because I always loved being alone (although I do sometimes), but because I wasn't the social type. At first it wasn't a problem, but then the older I got, the more I realized that living a life of loneliness was not the way to go.

I never knew it was so bad until I saw myself daydreaming about having friends who were wild, friends who loved to party and have mad fun. The reason for that was because I knew that although I wasn't the loud type, I can be real fun when I'm around those kind of people, especially in parties or in a fun gathering.

But my friends at the time were almost just like me, they weren't as reserved as I was but they weren't that loud either, but instead of crying about it, I decided to console myself with the fact that I could get the kind of friends I wanted when I eventually get to the university, afterall, all of the university movies I've seen involves people partying and having the best time of their lives.

Fast forward to few years later, I found myself in the university, all alone but ready to make cool crazy friends, but then just as usual, I got reminded that as humans, there are certain things that are above our control and one of those things are the kind of people we meet.

About a month in school and I soon found myself in the midst of two nerds. Instead of having my cool friends like I had always dreamed of, I stumbled on some challenges in my first year in school, one that demanded that I made friends with the smart guys in class or risk dropping out of school, so I obviously went for the former.

I had made friends with this two guys because I was finding some calculation courses real difficult and I knew I needed their help to pass those courses in other to progress to the next stage but somewhere along the line, I found out that these guys weren't just nerds, they were cool nerds with a very bright future ahead of them and as someone who was smart, I knew the best thing to do was to hang around them, so I did just that.

And although I don't regret that decision, it kinda ruined my plans of having wild friends and going for crazy parties every night, and also constantly dissapointing my parents. But at the end of the day, this whole experience just made me realize that you attract what you are. Good will always attract good, and bad will always attract bad.

I think even if you choose to go with wild friend, you would not enjoy too much. Because your mentality would't allow it. At the same time have some wild friend is also necessary because sometimes (not every time) it's good to be wild with them.

This is why I also want some wild friends because although I might not want to party all the time, I still need them when I do want to party.

To spend life alone is not good. Being a Social Animal, we should make good friends. I 'm laughing to see the wild with friends, it shows they were very crazy for a party the whole night 😂. Anyway, happy to see your living changed and you made two cool nerds as your friend.

Hi @prayzz. I am very reserved, observant, somewhat joking but respectful, I know what my limits are so as not to harm another person. In college my friends had similar profiles to mine and I must tell you that many years later I still keep my friends. I went to wild parties and tried to socialize with the popular students, but they seemed to me to be very false people who only wanted to have fun and often abused the weakest.

For me to be considered nerds was a privilege and in one way or another they always looked for my friends or me to help them in their assignments, I learned from this that some of them were not as bad people as I thought!

However, I must say that many of these popular students did not finish their studies, some continued with their inconsiderate attitude towards others and have not had much luck in their personal lives.

Very nice post, you made me remember my time at the University. Greetings.

I also don't regret making friends with my friends, I just feel like I should have found a way to kinda balance it, have a little bit of both here and there..

That way I get to have crazy people to party with and also serious people to face my study with.

Greetings to you too🙂.

It's like that at first we all get used to being alone but when we grow wiser we realize that life is meant to be spent together. We don't live life well by spending time alone. It is better that we should live in harmony with all people.
