Toxic Trait

When I was a kid, one of my favorite movie to watch was the Power Rangers. If I wasn't watching them on television, I was buying the CD, all I knew was that nothing was coming between I and my Power Rangers. I remember one thing I loved about the show was how the characters changed into their superhero costume.

I always enjoyed watching them do the back and front flips whenever they changed and one of my toxic traits back then was believing that the back flip was something I could do with my eyes closed. With the way I saw them do it on TV, I felt it was going to be a walk in the park but I never tried it, until one day at school.

It was during lunch break and I had seen two of my friends at the school field doing some back flips. I went to meet them and they asked me if I knew how to and I had honestly told them no. I told them I haven't tried it before but I felt it was something I could do if I wanted to.

One of the guys immediately agreed with me because according to him, I had a very good flexible body that would enable me do a good back flip. I didn't say anything to him but I carried it at the back of my mind and that kinda boost my confidence.

So one day, during the weekend, I was at home with my friends at our usual play ground, when some kids started to do some front and back flip. These were kids who were really really good at this stuff. So for some reasons still unknown to me till this day, I decided it was time I showed the world (my friends) how good I was with doing the back flip.

So without any prior training, I had told my friends that I was about to do the back flip, the one where you run to give yourself a little boost before lifting yourself in the air. So I got ready and started to run, I ran for a little while and just as I lifted myself into the air, something went wrong.

There must have been a malfunction somewhere because the next thing I knew, I was almost landing on my head. It was a miracle I didn't because that would have caused a huge neck injury, if not worse, and that was the last time I ever attempted the back flip ever again.

You could have snapped your neck and that would have been terrible. I fear for little boys who do what you try to do every time I see them.
I always think of all the bad things that could go wrong.

Yeah, I easily could have lost my life that day. And that is why things like that should only be done by professionals or under the supervision of one.
