Too Much is Bad

Too much freedom can make you do a lot of crazy things, just like the guy standing on a cliff in the image below.

Some people will always say "too much of everything isn't good" and that quote applies to everything in life, even money and freedom.

Now when it comes to freedom, too much of it can be intoxicating and could lead to a lot of bad things happening to us because we all know we're never ourselves when we get intoxicated. But as a parent, you need to give your kids a little bit of freedom, you just have to look for a way to balance it to make sure you're not giving them more than you should.

And I say that from experience because as a kid, I got restricted from doing a lot of things most of my other peers were allowed to do and this weren't even bad stuff, it was simple things like going to the beach to have a good time. My dad wouldn't even let us say the word to him, not to talk of actually going.

So I was restricted, I kinda became an introvert not by choice but because I had to. My dad wasn't that strict with me but he just had these rules that somehow created other rules in my head without him even telling me about them. So even if he was going to allow me go on a field trip with my friends, I wouldn't bother to ask him if I could go because I would generally assume he would say no.

So when I got into the university and got excess amount of freedom, I didn't know what to do with it. Now most kids would had probably abused it and did things their parents never would had permitted them to do, because this is the first time they're being unsupervised and they get to do whatever they want, which also involves drugs.

Luckily for me, I didn't go down that route but even I the introverted one once got intoxicated by too much freedom. I had gone ahead to dye my hair to a different color. That was something I would never do if I was with my parents or even my aunt. But I did it because I could and because there was no one around who would say or do anything about it. But even though it looked really good on me, I ended up dying it back to black (it's original color) because I just didn't feel comfortable with it, it didn't feel like me.

So do I think too much freedom is good, no. But no freedom at all is worse, there has to be some sort of balance and this applies to not just kids living with their parents, but also in our place of work and every other places. If a boss allows his employees to have too much freedom and do whatever they want, that business or company would most likely close down within a year, if not less.

Many who abused their freedom during their university days ended up regretting it.

Thanks for sharing.

This is why I always wonder why parents will give their children full freedom once they get to the age of eighteen
It is very bad
Monitor your children well!!!

Yup.. They feel that 18 is the age of maturity in everything, I disagree.

Not only you but all of us enjoyed this freedom in university life and tried to use it differently. You have rightly said that freedom is good but there must be a balance between it.

Yup.. There should be a balance or else it gets abused.

Some people are very fond of going to such a place to take pictures, but people like us can't go here because people are very scared inside.
