The World we Live in

It's crazy how the world is going, how now we have to think real hard before answering simple questions like where do you work or what do you do for work?

And the reason for that is because the world has gotten so messed up that just by saying some words on the internet, words that weren't considered to be a bad word few years ago, could not only get you canceled, but could also make you lose your job just because there will be people out there calling and writing to your job, demanding that you get sacked.

It's crazy but these things happen, and sadly, in as much as we don't like to admit it, it has now given the majority of us some ptsd, to the extent where we now totally avoid conversations that could lead to us telling anyone what we do for a living.

Just yesterday, I was with the guys and from where we were seated, we could overhear two guys having a conversation not too far away from us. I don't know how close they both were to each other as friends, but we could hear one of them trying to convince the other guy to put him through some online job that he was into.

And while he was seriously begging, his friend kept on telling him that his job weren't looking to hitey someone new. Now while that might have sounded like the truth, we soon found out that it wasn't, after that friend went further to ask him to tell him the name of company's website, so that he could always check online to see if there was vacancy or not.

That was when his friend decided to tell him his true reason of not wanting to put him on. It was all due to fear of anyone knowing where he works and what he does for a living. According to that friend, he had said that if he was in a fight with someone, he wouldn't get upset if that person insulted him and said all manners of nasty stuff to him, because he could walk back home and not feel like anything happened five minutes ago.

But if he lost his job due to some stupid fight or argument, his source of livelihood, then he wouldn't know how to react. What he said made sense, although I felt bad for his friend.. But then again, this is what happens when the entire world decides to be woke and create new stupid rules every day.

It's sad, but this is the world we live in.

I don't know what to say, I think I want to say the last line you said as my comment, and it's "It's sad, but this is the world we live in."
