The Power to Adapt
All our lives as humans, we always talk about wanting powers, about how it'd be cool if we had some kind of superpower...and yet we've had one all along, we just never saw the potential in it and chose to overlook it.
For a while now I've been feeling some kind of way, due to some personal stuff happening to me. Its been feeling like everything is going wrong for me all at once. And at first, I felt like it was going to consume me, like I was going to lose myself along the way and just end up doing something that I would regret.
I found myself being rude to people who at the end of the day, genuinely want what's best for me. But it wasn't entirely my fault, I was just getting pushed by everyone and everything and it felt like my head was going to explode. But luckily for me, I held on and it's been more than two weeks that I've been feeling this way but it doesn't even hurt like it used to when this whole thing first started.
And what's even more crazy is the fact that the problem that was there on day one, is still here. Nothing has changed on that side, but on my side, a lot has actually changed. I now know that that problem is part of my life (at least for now) and how to handle things in a way where I don't get overloaded like the last time, I've learnt to adapt to the pain and everything else. And although I hope that I won't be in this state much longer, I'm fine for now.
That's the power of adaptation, the one superpower everyone has but keeps ignoring. And what's even more crazy is the fact that everyone or almost everyone has this power.
And I say that because if we wake up tomorrow, and we found out that there have been a zombie outbreak, many of us would look for ways to leave with it without getting infected or bitten by any zombie. It's kinda like the covid-19 era and how everyone slowly but surely adjusted to living a life where we could no longer go outside, shake hands or even talk to people without a mask on.
When you really think about it, you'd be amazed how quick we can go from living a kind of way, to living a completely different life from our previous ones. If you ask me, I think that itself qualifies as a superpower.

Humans are very flexible to change and with time they can adapt almost in any kind of situation. Maybe it's because we want to survive in any cost and so we can adapt in anywhere.
I do believe that it is the spirit of survival in us that enables us to adapt to whatever condition we find ourselves.. But tell me, do you see that as a superpower or am I just exaggerating? 😂
