The Good Old Days

When it comes to public or private schools, I've always attended and still attend a public school. If you ask me, public schools are really cool because there's this kind of freedom I feel exist in public schools unlike the private schools. Now I know that as someone who has never attended a private school before in my life, my knowledge about private schools is almost next to none and very limited but if there's one thing I know private schools are good at, it's their strictness, hence the less freedom.

Did I enjoy my schooling?

Of course I did. High school (I will be taking most of my experience from high school) was nothing but fun for me. I remember how I felt about a week after I had finished high school, and how I wanted nothing but to just go back to school. That was probably the first time I understood the saying "You don't know the value of what you have until you lose it" because I didn't really know how awesome high school was until I was done with it.

Unfortunately, the one thing I loved about my school also happens to be the one thing most parents wouldn't want for their kids which is the freedom. We were not exactly given too much freedom but sometimes it always felt like the teachers weren't strict enough and sometimes were too strict.

And when it comes to the benefits of attending a public school, I guess the one thing I will say is just having to experience life and I say this because my school had different people from different backgrounds in it, the rich, the poor and even the middle class and we all just kinda mixed together and saw life from each others point of view.

Public school was fun but it had its disadvantages too and one of them was the constant fighting with other schools. I was lucky enough to attend a school where majority of the students were well-mannered but I knew of other public schools where they would schedule fights with other schools and both would pick a venue and arrive on time to start their battle. That's something I never heard or saw the private schools do, they were always serious and well behaved.

Also, the teachers too in the public schools sometimes doesn't always care if you're learning or not. Most times they just give the class captain their note to copy and pass to the others without really explaining that note simply because they're behind the school calender and are trying to meet up.

All in all, if you ask me if I'd like to attend a private school, my answer would definitely be yes without hesitation and that is because I've never really been to one. So I would love to experience that side of schooling, but wanting to experience that doesn't mean I regret ever attending a public school, because I don't and if I'm being honest, my school was far more better than some other public schools I knew in the area where my friends had to take their own table and chair to school just so they could have something to sit on.

Honestly, I wish that I attended public schools. I want to have that interesting experience that you all are having.

Same here, I'd love to attend a private school myself.

You were actually lucky enough to attend a calm public school. Imagine having to run home everyday not because you're eager to get home but because you don't wanna be a victim of stray bullet. You literally have to run for your life.
