The Fun Always Comes After

It's funny how whenever most of us tell stories about how fun life as a student was, it never has anything to do with the school itself or going to classes but the opposite. Lectures are never fun, some days are so bad that the thought of going home at the end of all these "torture" is what usually helps me survive some of these classes.

I remember during my first year in school, my course mates would always ask me why I'm always in a hurry to go home after each lectures and I would just tell them that being at home was fun, and that was basically because back then, I had some really cool people at my hostel that always made the whole place lively and would make you not want to leave home at all.

If there's one thing I do enjoy as a student, it is freedom. You see before school happened, I never really had a reason to leave home and just be one hundred percent in control of myself. I had people telling me what to do, what to eat, where to wear and just being controlled. But all of that changed the moment I became a student and was living hundreds of kilometers away of home.

I suddenly was the boss of me and could do whatever it was I wanted. It was intoxicating at first but luckily for me, I was able to put it all under control and now, even though I don't do much and I'm mostly at home or in school taking lectures, I still enjoy the fact that I know that I could decide to pack up my bag and just travel if I wanted to, and no one would know about it, not to talk of questioning me.

If there's something else that I do enjoy as a student, it's the respect that comes with it. Everyone (in the family) just tends to be more respectful when you leave home and you're in school, it's almost as if they turn off the childhood version of you that they had in their head and then turn on the adult version because now they all have to trust you and believe that you would do the right thing because even if you don't, they have little to no control over you anymore because they don't even know what you're doing there to begin with.

So yeah, when it comes to my life as a student, it has to do with everything outside of school and nothing with school because lectures are boring and the only reason why I even pay attention in class is because I have to, in order to have good grades and not waste four years learning nothing.

And the good news about this whole thing is that the freedom never ends, even after school, we just keep on going up from here.

hahaha I agree with you, school life was fun, but lectures were 't:D I know some students who only came to school just to play. they always talk about playing on the ground. for the same reason, they were very bad when it comes to education and results.

Lectures are always boring and I probably would only go to school to play myself if I didn't need good results 😅

Who doesn't like freedom..I guess none..lol.
.it feels good when no parents will be there to question your movements even though we should a free life with caution.
Some lectures can really be boring but when you know that you have no other choice than to do the needful and get good grades, you succumb. It becomes lively when you are surrounded with good friends...it makes the stress that comes with school a bit relived.

Btw, do you attend same university with Bruno?

Yeah I know freedom can be intoxicating and that is why we have to be careful not to misuse it.. And yes, Bruno and I attend the same school.
