The Confused Lecturer

I used to have this lecturer back in the day whom I've always felt had some few screws loose in his head. The reason why I always felt that way was how disorganised he always behaved whenever we went over to his lab for class.

It was always as if he didn't know what he was there to do, or he did but he was just confused. Most times when we went for class, he would keep us in his lab for more than an hour and thirty minutes, doing nothing, just sitting there in a tiny lab with student sweating and gasping for fresh air.

Then when he has like thirty minutes left, he would get up and try to rush everything. We always made sure not to give him any extra time even if we didn't have any other classes after because he clearly didn't know what to lecture on.

Anyways, during my last year in school, I happen to have his class one semester and had gone over to his lab (luckily for us we weren't as populated as we were during my first year), and I found out he had brought this guy who is a tiktoker to class.

Apparently, he wanted to teach us about social media and tiktok was the app he was going to use as a case study. This, like everything other thing, was so random that for a minute I had wondered if I had walked into the wrong class. But obviously I didn't, because my course mates were there and this wasn't my first time coming to the lab.

Well, I had sat down and this guy (the tiktok guy) just like the lecturer, almost had nothing to say. All he did was tell us stories of how he used to have an account with a lot of followers but messed up and got it banned, and now he was trying to grow a new account of his, blah blah blah.

The class ended with the lecturer giving us an assignment, asking us to make a tiktok video with over five hundred views, an assignment that I did but we never got to submit it, because as usual, he never really cared about it...he just gave it to us to keep us busy.

But while that whole class might have been a disaster, I saw the vision of the knowledge the lecturer was trying to pass to us about social media, although he went about it the wrong way, bringing the wrong person to educate us about it, I did see the bigger picture and I actually was impressed.

You see, I do believe that social media is something that do need to be studied because just like studying to become a banker and whatnot, social media in so many ways has created jobs for people, one of the main ones being content creation.

A lot of people who go on social media also don't realize the many downside to it, all they think about is the money and fame that comes with it, so some of them end up making terrible mistakes that easily could have been avoided if they had been educated about it.

So yeah, if you ask me, social media should be a course studied in the schools.

I think that teacher are not qualified enough to be a teacher but he already hold the positing. I think for such kind of people education sector can't develop well.
