The Christmas Effect

Christmas as we all know it is a time for celebration, the one time where it seems like we all forget about our problems or just don't care about it, so all we do is party, spend time with our love ones, go out to have fun and exchange gifts. Basically, it's a time where everyone pretends like everything is okay with the world and then when we get to January, we all return back to reality.

But I like Christmas, in as much as I don't think I've ever celebrated Christmas or being given a gift on Christmas day ever (because I grew up in a family where Christmas wasn't celebrated), I like the effect it has on other people, the carefree life people tend to live during these times. I like how much happier people get during Christmas and how they tend to go buy that one thing they've always wanted for themselves but couldn't get it because of the price, not like the prices get lower during Christmas but all of a sudden it's cool to buy it because it's the holidays..its just the way our brains are wired.

Almost like we all believe that the Christmas holiday is the one time we're allowed to do "stupid things" and not think much about it because it's Christmas, so we go to the store to finally buy that one dress we've always wanted to get for a while now, I like that, the Christmas effect.

But you see, it's sad that most people have to wait until the end of every year to allow themselves feel that way when we can feel this way everyday and everytime (or maybe not everytime to be realistic but you get my point). I know that we can't always get that dress that we want due to financial reasons, but what about some other things that happen during the Christmas season that doesn't cost a dime.

Like the sudden wave of happiness and kindness that we always feel during this season, why can't we always be like that, why do they have to be a reason or season for you and I to be kind, happy and be in a mood to want to celebrate with family, friends and neighbours. Thinking about it, I know that feeling this way during the holidays is one thing that makes it special, so what that means is that we can make every other day of our lives as special as the holidays if only we all stop having that mentality that we can only do certain things during certain times (although that might be true but hey, you get my point).

It is a fact that when a person is sitting at home on holidays like this and enjoying the holidays, he forgets his worries and goes out with his family to have a lot of fun.

True.. But what will be more better is if we feel that way not just during the holidays, but every other day.

In the time of Christmas the wave of happiness start and because of it we don't think too much even if it cost us a little bit more. I think if we want them, we can arrange everything if we determined and in the time of Christmas we can feel it.

Well we shouldn't feel that way only during Christmas.. Especially the part that has to do with how we feel, the part that doesn't cost money like being kind.
