Something so Simple, and yet so Complex

Today was one of those days where I got kinda like an insight to life. I always get one of those every now and then and whenever I do, it has this way of messing with my brain and helping me see life a lot more easier, almost like my brain removes all of the barriers we humans have put ourselves and it just shows me how life should be.

Anyways, today's insight marvelled me a lot because I got to realize that every good thing in our lives today probably wouldn't have happened if we had met certain people, and the same goes for bad things too. Let me explain.

Earlier today I had sat at the balcony, just looking at everything and nothing in particular, I had no exams to write today so I spent most of my time just sitting outside and watching other students hurry to school, that was when I saw these ladies who had white shirt on which clearly meant they were writing their final papers today. Nigerian students do this thing where they wear white shirt on the day of their final exams so that other people can sign on their shirt with markers after they're done writing their paper.

Watching them walk to school, I suddenly remembered a video I had seen the previous day of some students running for their lives because someone who just graduated got shot. The dude was probably a cultists or whatever but watching that video made me silently say the words "thank God I'm not one of them" that was when the whole thing clicked in my head.

I started asking myself how did some of these guys get into it in the first place and I realize that some of them only became cultists after they became friends with the wrong people or person. That realization made me understand how meeting just one person could sometimes make or mar you for the rest of your life. And that is why I said that maybe if I had met a particular someone, I probably wouldn't be as broke as I am today. Maybe that person would have introduced me to something meaningful that would have changed my life, just like I got introduced to Hive.

For some reason, that whole thought kinda messed with me because thinking about how differently my life could have been (either in a good way or a bad way) just by meeting just one person is crazy. And what's even crazier is that I probably would have met that person if only I had gotten up at 6am and not 7am six years ago on my way to the market because even the tiniest delay, the tiniest change of time is enough to change our destiny forever, we just don't know if it would be changing for good or for worse. Maybe I probably would have been dead by now if I had woken up by 6am and not 7am six years ago.

I know this whole thing isn't new to some (if not all) of you because at the end of the day it just feels like common sense. I guess I'm only reacting to it this way because in my head, I'm trying to imagine the different ways my life could have turned out and I'm sorry if I lost you guys on the way, this whole thing feels so simple and yet so complex at the same time that I had to write it down the moment I thought about it because I knew my brain wasn't going to hold it for long. But if you didn't understand a word of what I said, I will be happy to explain further in the comments below.

The ripple effect of meeting just one person can change the trajectory of ones life, hopefully we get to meet people that'll change the course of our lives positively.

I resonate with you. It is funny how just one person can either be a blessing or a curse to us. And though I understand that much, the six years ago part got me confused, and I have to confess that I am curious only if you'd like to share.

Basically what I meant was that if I had done something a little bit differently six years, I probably won't be where or who I am today.

Yeah, that's right. Thanks for the clarity. I thought something happened then.

Some people come to our life make our life imbalance and most of them belongs to friends category. Sometimes feeling that life would be better if we didn't meet some people in life is quite natural. But it's life and we can't change the past.

Yup I agree with you. There's a lot of things we can't do because we don't know the future.

Just like when one goes out one sees such new things and one gets to learn a lot. It is a fact that when one's final year is going on then one has to go for a job. He doesn't know if he gets a job or not, he completes his studies honestly, when he doesn't get a job, he has to go to his other country with a lot of trouble.
