Shoot Your Shot

We the youths always use the "shoot your shot" quote whenever we're talking about the opposite sex but the truth is that that quote has way more meaning that you professing your love to your crush. But first, I will be telling you guys a story using our normal understanding of that quote.

There happen to be this lady that a friend of mine has always admired since 2019. Whenever he sees her walk pass, he would always say something nice about her, if it wasn't about the way she was walking, it was about how well dressed she was. We all knew he liked her, but for some reason he just refused to approach her. He always felt like she would ignore him if he did and getting embarrassed was the last thing he wanted to happen to him, so he settled with admiring her from afar.

And he stayed like that until two days ago, when he eventually got her number from a friend and texted her. They both went out on a date today and it turned out she had always had a crush on it too and was hoping he would come say something to her all this years. Imagine waiting four years to shoot your shot when you could had done it four years earlier and gotten the same result.

He gave me the full gist of how their date went today and it just made me remember the quote I wrote at the beginning of this post. Putting relationships aside, there are a lot of opportunities waiting for us out there, all we just need to do is approach and ask but that thing called fear or being scared of getting embarrassed is what is holding a lot of us back and preventing us from getting that thing we've always wanted.

So whenever we happen to find ourselves in such position, be it with a guy we like or a girl we like or a business opportunity we've always wanted, always do well to go for it because the worse that could happen is getting turned down, but remember that is far more better than not trying at all because there's always a 50/50 chance of us getting that thing or not.
