Real life movie

For the last couple of days, my life has been like that of a movie, although it seems like I'm not the main character in this one and that is one thing I'm super grateful about.

For a while now, there have been talks about people getting ready for a nationwide protest on the first of August which happens to be tomorrow. The reason for the protest is due to the hardship of things in the country and this is our way of asking the government to do better.

But as usual, the government doesn't want the protest to go ahead and I just can't help but feel like the things that has been happening lately is one of the ways the government is trying to discourage us from going ahead with the protest.

It all started on Monday when we heard gunshots and that some people were killed. The reason for the killing is still a mystery to us, but that whole event placed everyone on edge. Then fast forward to today, just right after some few minutes past nine in the morning, we heard news that someone else had been killed and everyone were running to safety.

At first I had thought it was just a mere rumor but after my school ended all lectures for the day and immediately asked students to go back to their hostels, I realized how serious the whole thing was.

Unfortunately, situations like this tend to cause unnecessary panic and seeing one person running could make a crowd run too without anyone asking for the reason why they're running, and that was exactly what happened.

The moment someone started running, everyone joined them and before we knew it, the streets and roads were empty within minutes. The government immediately deployed all of its security agencies to patrol the street while we all remained indoors, praying to God that none of the unknown gunmen would walk into our street.

Then I went online and saw gruesome videos of people that have been killed already and it sent shivers down my spine. The moment the whole thing cooled down for a bit, I had taken the little money I had with me, not to try and escape the state (because that would be dumb and almost next to impossible with the security agencies everywhere) but to go get as much foodstuff as my money could afford.

And this is because I have this feeling that the next few days isn't going to be one where I want to be caught outside for any reason. So I plan on staying indoors for as long as possible, and with enough food here with me, it's something I easily can do.

Anyways, pray for me and every one of us here.

Which part of the country is this happening? My goodness!
The people that were murdered, what was their offense? Any clue, @prayzz ?

Where are we actually heading to in this country? (thinks aloud )

Which part of the country is this happening?

Imo state, Owerri.

Any clue?

Absolutely no idea.. The whole thing is one of the reasons why Imo state hasn't gotten involved with the protest yet because everywhere is already hot, military everywhere.

Hmmmm, how terrible this country can be. Imagine shooting people even before the said protest..that's terrible. Just like you, I got enough food stuffs already, locked 🔐 up myself and my family inside here... watching things unfold
It's well
Stay safe over there!

It's going to happen bad. Feeling sad about it.
In the case of hearing the sounds of gunshots, I heard so many sounds of gunshot in recent days and seen a lot of students losing life in front of my eyes. I just hope in your country the situation won't be so bad like my country situation.
