Rabbit Hole
Some few days ago, I had written about how I found out I was slowly moving towards having high blood pressure, and ever since then I've been doing all I can to stay and live healthy.
I've avoided taking sugary things and would rather drink a lot of water instead. I now eat lots of fruits and also lift weights. Another thing that I now do is before I eat anything, I go online to do research to know if that thing is healthy for me to consume, and unfortunately, doing that has somewhat placed me into a rabbit hole, and I will explain what I mean by that.
You see, ever since I began trying to be extra cautious with things that go into my body (which also means spending a lot of time on the internet trying to find out what's healthy to eat and what isn't), the algorithm of my newsfeed on all social media has changed.
All of a sudden, all I see now are videos talking about one sickness and the other, food we shouldn't eat, and the ones that kill us slowly. Earlier today I had sent one of those video links to my friend, and apparently he was fed up just like I was, because having seen all of those videos, it honestly feels like I could die at any second due to the many things out there that we aren't supposed to eat.
It's almost like everything we do and eat is out there to kill us, and there's no escaping it, or at least that is what my friend thinks, and that is why he has decided to stop paying attention to these things and just live his life.
But is that really a smart thing to do? Should we ignore these warnings from these videos and just live like we normally would, or should we spend the rest of our years on earth trying to be extra cautious of what we eat and what we don't eat?
That sounds like a boring life to me, but is a boring life worth living if it means living a long one, or should it be short, sweet, and free?
