Playing Detective

So usually my plans for Sundays is always very simple, sleep late on Saturdays and then wake up late on Sunday especially when I have no plans on going to church that Sunday. Which was my plan this Sunday, so I was up until 1am when a friend of mine sent me a text on WhatsApp.

Apparently he had called his girlfriend earlier that night and due to the noise he was hearing at the background, he discovered she was not at her hostel. He immediately asked her where she was and she had told him that she went to a friend's party but would be going home later that night which he was okay with until he called her around 11pm that night and she refused to answer and that got him suspicious.

Now I know some of you might be wondering why he would be suspicious, seeing how there's nothing wrong with her attending a party. But it turns out that his girlfriend happens to be those kind who hates it when their boyfriend's goes out on this kind of parties without informing them, not to talk of him partying throughout the night. So it's only fair that the same rules applies to her.

So my friend texted me around 1am that morning, and pleaded with me to help him out with my Detective skills. Seeing how they both weren't together (he had traveled to his village to go do some stuff), he needed someone to help him confirm if she got home that night and wasn't answering his calls because she passed out from having too many alcohols or something. He needed confirmation in other to make sure she doesn't get the chance to lie to him when he eventually confronts her.

So he comes up with this plan where he asked me to go give her some money that he needed for some stuff, money that I can't send to him from my bank because my bank was "having some issues". His plan was basically for me to have a reason to go over to her hostel and see if she's there without it looking like I went to spy on her. So I turned off my phone and forced myself to sleep because I had to wake up early that morning to investigate.

Surprisingly, I woke up earlier than I thought I would (it turned out I was way more excited to find out the truth myself), so I got dressed and went over to her hostel. Unfortunately, this was my first time going over to her place so it was a nightmare locating her door (my Detective skill were a bit rusty), so I ended up calling my friend who called his girlfriend, asking her to come outside so I could hand the money over to her, and that was when she confessed that she wasn't at home because she had no choice.

She told him she wasn't back home yet from the party but would be going home that morning. Now I don't need anybody to tell me that the real juicy part of this story comes with what happens next, unfortunately my friend likes to keep things on the low so he thanked me for helping out before ending the call, leaving me hanging because I so much wanted to know what happened next.

What excuse will she give to him? Will he be ending the relationship? Too bad I can't ask because it's none of my business. So just like you guys, I will allow my imagination finish the story for me. But we all have to admit, if I do decide to become a detective, I will be really good at it.
