Parents Should Learn To Ask Questions

Over here in Nigeria, the month of December has more meaning than just the Christmas celebration. It's the month where people get to travel back home mainly for two reasons, the first being to spend the holidays with family and also visit their friends that they probably haven't seen in months, and the second reason being to flaunt all of the years achievement that they got. So it's either they're spraying money or they're cruising all over the place with their new car.

I had stumbled upon a video on tiktok today, it was a video of a mother shouting at her son who had visited her at her home with a brand new car. I could hear her asking him where he got the money from, considering he has no job and was just in his year two in the university.

For some reason I found that video interesting because the way that mother reacted kinda reminded me about back in the day when I was a kid and was always scared to bring new toys home because I knew for a fact that my parents would question me and make sure they got good answers about where I got that toy from or how I was able to afford it. Knowing that made it impossible for me to steal any of my friends toy because even if I did, I couldn't take it home. Because the moment I did, I would get questioned about it and when I lie and tell them a friend gave it to me, they would want to meet that friend of mine.

Unlike the parents of today where none of them care about where their kids are getting money from, all they seem to be interested in is spending the money without asking any questions, this is the reason why we have a lot of internet fraudsters today and also young girls doing prostitution here and there because they know their mom and dad would never ask them where the money they seem to be spending is coming from, and that gives that person the freedom to do whatever they want.

Now I know that in this modern time and age and based on the crazy technologies out there that enables anyone who can operate a mobile phone to make millions of money even from their bedroom, I still feel it's the parents responsibility to question their children when they start noticing this things, especially when the parents know for a fact that their kid doesn't have a job and isn't working online.

No one says that you shouldn't spend your son or daughters money, it just wouldn't hurt for you to ask them how they got that money in the first place.

Obviously asking question is fine necessary otherwise they are exist a good possibility to do something illegal and pants should need to be aware about it if they don't want to spoil their child.

Exactly my point. Those questions would help keep the child in check.
