Is Education Scam?

One thing I know for sure is that a lot of people will have different answers to this particular question because I believe that the educational system is based on our different countries. I’ve seen videos of kids in high school in China making mobile phones as some sort of test or something, mobile phones that university graduates over here in Nigeria have no clue about.

Everyone over here thinks so poorly about the Nigerian educational system that a song was composed for it. The name of the song is “Las las school na school” which translates to “At the end, school is scam”

The thing about the Nigerian educational system is that our learning curriculum is so outdated, they still teach the things my granddad was taught when he was in school and that shouldn’t be the case because the world as we know it is evolving everyday. There are techs today that was only an imagination back in the days. So I believe that as the world evolves and new things are being created, our learning time table should evolve too so that when we do leave school and go into the labor market, we would be up to date to the things happening in the world.

But you see, the thing about the Nigerian educational system is that corruption has eaten too deep that to uproot it will see a lot of big men and women in the educational system getting arrested and disgraced.

I’m sure that if an examination was set for all the lecturers to write based on their field of study, a lot of them would fail woefully because all they know are outdated things that are almost not as relevant as they used to be back in the days.

For me, I feel the way solve this problem is for the minister of education to see to it that every school curriculum is up to date and some how get qualified lecturers and teachers to teach this things and also increase their salaries, so that hopefully, some of them (if not all) will stop extorting money from their students and do their job happily. Because a man who’s happy with his job will give it his all.

Bravo 👏.. an appropriate one right there.. now the question is will the minister of education know this thing??? Or we are just here making some irrelevant hive post and they are there making some relevant money...

If they focus in bringing in those facilities from over the country down here into our academic field I believe our ideas, focus and mindset would go a long way in respect of schooling.

I feel they know these things, they're just more focused on stealing as much money as they can rather than doing some actual work.

Yeah You are right.

I am just tired of this outdated school curriculum.
There is no new teachings in our curriculum that evolves change in our present world.

Old theory without practical rather than new theory with practical.

Thank you for this boss. Nigerian educational system is out of date.

I remember being taught a particular programming language while in school which was way too outdated, people had forgotten it even exists, yet we were still taught, and then left the recent programming language untaught.
Our education system is not helping matters at all.

Thanks for sharing your view with us.
