Nothing in life is guaranteed, not even life itself

If there's one thing we all should know in life, it's that there's no guarantees, almost everything is 50/50. Your marriage working out is 50/50 and so is you getting that job and basically everything else, luckily for me I also have the same mindset when it comes to the kind of decisions I make.

Life has taught me that it is much more easier for you handle certain things when you approach it with the 50/50 percent mindset, that way even when things don't exactly work out in the way you expected it to, you don't get broken down by the disappointment.

I remember back in the day when I used to be a chronic sport betting gambler, most times when I'm about to play a game, I used to focused on the winning part "if I win this money I would do this and that" I would often say to myself, but most times those games ended up not going my way and I remember how devasted I would feel on those days, sometimes staying indoors for hours and even falling asleep, not because I was feeling sleepy but because the whole of my body, mind and soul was feeling so down for my loss.

But then I soon learnt that although it's good to always think positive, things won't always go our way and that is why it is even better to let ourselves know that whatever it is we're about to do, there is a high possibility of it not working out just like there's a high possibility of it working out.

This is why a lot of people tend to get hurt when you say no to them whenever they ask you for a favour, and this is because in their mind, they already believed that you were going to help them no matter what (almost as if they're entitled to it), so when you eventually give them a response that they weren't prepared for, they get disappointed, and in these situations, it doesn't take long for disappointment to turn into anger and then hatred.

Anyways, as for today's contest, when it comes to making decisions, I always try to see it as a two way thing, the positive and the negative, that way I get to know what the repercussions would be if that decision ended up coming back in the negative way, that helps me prepare ahead for it and although it might not stop me from getting hurt, it reduces the pain I'm suppose to feel.

Also, I really don't take that long in making decisions because most times we already know what we want to do, it's the 'how' that's always difficult for most people, but not me, which is something I'm grateful for. I always find a way to figure things out quickly, this I believe is one of the many reasons why a lot of my friends always asks for my advise on stuff concerning them.

So yeah, there you have it. I believe that with this kind of mentality and view of life, it will make a lot of things easy and probably hurt less because the less expectations we put out there, the less hurt we feel.

I love all the angles you wrote this from. If you limit your expectations (not in a pessimistic way though) and keep an open mind to life, you’ll be less disappointed.

This is very brilliant, thanks for sharing ✨

Imagining what we will do with the money we are supposed to earn is lethal. I think it's opening the door to disillusionment. It is good to be optimistic and all that, but we must also be cautious and know that sometimes that good result depends on a series of factors that sometimes are not in the power of our hand. Sometimes you have to do your best and wait, and be surprised by a good result. Greetings @prayzz

It is a fact that nothing in this world is permanent, there will come a time when all these things will come to an end. Due to the period old business will end and it is also a fact that we all people don't know how long our life is and when our life will end so we have to be good with all people. We should show respect and help each other.

In case of making decisions I am always careful and I became serious at that time when others time I remain in funny mood. Some of the decisions can be taken within a second when we have past experience with similar kind of incident.

True.. Having past experiences on certain issues do help with future deciding making on that same issue.
