A couple of days ago, someone was arrested by the state CID after he allegedly beat his girlfriend. He had no idea that his girlfriend had an uncle who knew the right people to call. After he was taken away for interrogation, I and a couple of friends started talking about how far a woman can push us for us to raise our hand on them.

Trust me, this isn’t one of those blogs where I’m going to pretend like nothing on earth is going to make me hit a woman. I can hit anyone at anytime depending on how bad the offense committed against me is. But hitting someone I’m in a relationship with is kind of a little bit different for me.

You see, while growing up as a kid, I never for once saw my dad hit my mom whenever they were having an argument. He would always walk away and not talk to my mom for days, he wouldn’t even eat her food and then she’d be forced to go beg him and apologize. I remember one time I was having a conversation with mom and she said that my dad is so good at not talking to people that sometimes she’d wish he hit her instead and got the whole thing over with rather than not talk to her for days.

So that whole method my dad uses kind of got into me and before I knew it, I found myself doing it whenever I got offended. So I highly doubt I will be able to hit a lady I’m in a relationship with because that’s not the way I deal with things like that but if it was to be a random lady or someone else who decides that she can mess with me anyhow she likes because she’s a lady and feels I won’t be able to do anything to her, she has something else coming for her because being the bigger person and walking away doesn’t always work.

Hitting someone you love is not right at all, just because you were offended and you are more powerful than the other should not lead to abuse. That your dad method is the best thing to do.

Sometimes walking away seems to be the best idea else you might just be too provoked.
Your dad's idea seems good and effective.

Ómo, bro...no matter who the person may be, walk away!!.. because you don't even know what the person is suffering from, you'll na go and raise your hand to hit somebody next thing the person falls and dies.

I know it's really hard to avoid arguments and rough situations especially in a country like ours. Everywhere you look there's one angry person looking for someone to vent all that anger on

The best option is always to Walk away whenever you can, just find somewhere and cool off all that anger, it'll save you and the person a lot

This is actually very true,Lol.

One of the main reasons I haven’t being in a fight in a long time now. Walking away is the best way to do things to make peace but then again like you said, everyone’s crazy in this country.

Well... @prayzz

I appreciate your candidness here.

Very few people would own up to having such tendencies.

But imagine that everyone grew up in your house...hypothetically speaking...

Every guy or lady, sees how your father handles differences between himself and your mother...

And that's the only way they know how to deal with differences, of course that's all they would do.

Truth be told, that is also a toxic way of handling differences even though it is way better than raising your hand to assault another individual.

It is a known fact worldwide that people who result to violence as a means of resolving conflict do not have control of themselves and are in need of help.

They are usually mirroring a bad image they imbibed as children and have failed to resolve.

Research shows that most people who result to physically beating another individual are people who are yet to heal from the violence that they were exposed to think that being violent is the only way to get past the pain and hurt they feel.

So, here's my conclusion...

Nobody under any circumstances should assault another individual for any reason whatsoever...
