No Love In The Jungle

Growing up, I used to hear about the bro code and how as guys, there are certain things we shouldn't do to other guys. But it seems like this current generation no longer gives a shit about the bro code, everyone just does whatever it is they want to do without caring about the other guy.

And this doesn't only apply to the guys, I've come to realize that it extends to the ladies as well. I have a friend of mine who recently left his girlfriend to date her friend. Her friend had escorted her to go visit her boyfriend one day and the next day, the friend had gone to visit him alone and the rest was history. The dude broke up with his girlfriend to date her friend.

And I know that the guy is the first party to be blamed here, but the friend (the lady) is also to be blamed. If she had her friend's back, she wouldn't had gone to visit the guy in the first place, not to talk of agreeing to date him. But she did and based on news getting to me, the girlfriend (now ex girlfriend) no longer talks to the lady (her friend) but somehow, she still talks to the guy and they still hang out, though not as couples.

It's a really complicated issue to be honest but based on what I gathered, the ex girlfriend still likes the guy and she's probably hoping to win him back, while the guy is just at the middle of it all, enjoying the attention from both parties and not caring that he just ruined the beautiful friendship that both ladies had.

But what really inspired today's post was based on something that happened today. There happen to be this guy who has a girlfriend who doesn't live around here but stays in a different state but would occasionally come to visit her boyfriend who lives in our hostel.

Whenever she's not around, the boyfriend has this other girlfriend who comes around to spend time with him, so basically he was cheating on her. This has been going on for about a month and almost everyone knows about it but the level of "mind your business we have in this hostel" is on an all time high so no one is telling the girlfriend anything. Everyone is just focused on their business and never say nothing.

Anyways, another occupant of the hostel had done something this evening, something that I feel breaches the contract of the bro code. This guy had approached this other guys sidechick (the one who has a girlfriend) and had tried wooing her, eventually getting her number.

The crazy thing is that this same guy has a girlfriend but I guess seeing how he knows that she's a sidechick to someone else, he doesn't care and would want her to be his side chick too, not minding that another guy that he knows is hanging out with her.

It's a crazy thing to be honest, because this whole thing just feels like we're in a jungle and everyone is just trying to get whatever they want without caring about how the next man feels and if we're being honest, I don't see any of this ending well. I definitely see both unfaithful guys fighting over this lady and I won't be surprised if she has a boyfriend somewhere who doesn't even know about this whole thing happening.
