Necessary Evil

One time we were asked to write about the things we would do if somehow we woke up one morning only to discover that the rules and regulations governing the world no longer exist for the next twenty four hours. A lot of people wrote about different things, I for one said I would arm myself with weapons and then get to somewhere safe to hide because there surely will be chaos everywhere.

Some people wrote about how they would use that twenty four hours to steal gather as much money as they could from the bank or wherever it is people keep money this days (it won’t be considered stealing seeing how there is no good or bad at the moment). Well reading through those posts made me to start thinking that what if people aren’t really good like they think, they are just afraid of the consequences of whatever bad action that they may take seeing how there are laws in place to punish them for any wrongdoing they do.

We all see ourselves as good people but ask yourself a question, do you think you will be as humble as you are now and not do some really crazy stuff if you weren’t scared of what will happen after you do those things? Majority of you will come to an answer you do not like.

If you look at it from an angle, the only thing keeping you in check is fear. Without that fear, we will just be like every criminal out there because one thing those criminals all have in common is that they’ve all learned to keep their fears aside and commit whatever crime they are about to commit.

What I’m trying to say at the end of it all is that not all fear is bad. Sometimes, fear is good because it helps prevent us from doing some really stupid shit. A bad example of what I’m trying to say is when our parents beat the living daylight out of us when we do something wrong. Next time when we’re about to repeat that same thing, the thought of what we went through the first time will stop us from doing it. So you see, fear is a necessary evil.
