Military Training

One of the topics that didn't make it to the top three topics during today's hangout at the Hive Learners community is a topic titled "Dread". The topic basically is about the things we dread to do but have no choice but to do it when the time comes.

Reading through that topic, I instantly remembered one thing that would always disturb me in my sleep whenever it was time to do that thing, and that thing is none other but waking up early for church on Sunday mornings.

You see, I come from a Christian family that doesn't joke with it's Sunday services and unfortunately, what that means is that we all have to wake up very early every Sunday morning just to do our chores and get ready for church. So yeah, the thing always preventing me from sleeping peacefully every Saturday night was the thought of waking up early every Sunday morning.

It's crazy I know, but that was a thing for me. I remember one of the chores I dreaded the most back then was washing my dad's car that early on Sunday morning because the thought of waking up from sleep and just going to mess around with water wasn't appealing to me. We all know water and sleep doesn't mix well together.

And I know that some of you would ask that why don't I just do the chores the previous day in other to get a good sleep on Sunday morning but the truth was that chores or no chores, everyone had to be up early on sunday morning and also, my dad had stopped me from washing the car on Saturday nights because according to him, it always ended up very dusty the next morning, making it look like it wasn't washed the previous day.

So every Sunday morning, I and my siblings would get up, say our morning prayers before going to our various stations to go get our jobs done and by the time we were done with our chores, the time would be around 6am which was time for us to go take our baths and be in church before 7:30am.

So yeah, that used to be my Sunday routine until I eventually went to school and now I sleep like I've never slept before, because I know that the moment I go back home, the military training will start all over again.

your post is nice but you have to be lover of church despite everything with, what I picture in what you are saying is like you are not that happy with the Sunday activities in your house, but what I have to say is you are a man you have to be more stronger because one day you will keep a family like this so do not panic you have to be strong in your house chores more because in life the way you are seeing it if you miss a step you will not be happy in future so my advice for you is just endurance just keep doing it is a training as you said military training

Lolz, you call that military training but its not that bad since you are from a Christian home. It might be inconvenient to always wake up by that time because I do feel the same way too but when I get to church, I easily forget whatever feeling I was feeling when I woke up that day.

Do you still attend church now or only when you are at home?

Maybe calling it a military training is me exaggerating but you get the point 😂

Do you still attend church now or only when you are at home?

Of course.. Although not as early as I do at home.

Hehe. Family members are waiting for you. Join the training as fast as you can🤣. I can understand your situation but I was never under military training like you.
