Maybe, maybe not..

When it comes to marriage, I honestly don't think there's anything to be hyped up about anymore. I mean back in the day, people see marriage as something to be proud of. There's this respect that always comes with the fact that you're married (or at least that was how it used to be during the days of my parents over here) but somehow for some reason, it just feels like the older my generation gets, the more useless getting married becomes.

Like I said, back in the day, getting married was a thing of pride but these days, I really don't see the point of it and my reason for saying that is pretty obvious. Marriages nowadays are no different from just dating someone, because unlike in the past, you could just wake up one morning and decide you're done with your marriage and want a divorce and that's it, it's as easy as breaking up with your boyfriend or girlfriend.

Now I might understand the western world doing things that way, but over here in Africa, it didn't use to be like that. Marriages were taken seriously and thinking of divorcing your partners was usually the last thing that comes to mind and that is why before they got married, they always took their time to make sure that they indeed want to spend the rest of their lives with that person and not just go into the marriage because they could easily get out whenever they wanted to.

Looking at marriages today, do I see myself getting hyped about getting married, no but that doesn't mean that I wouldn't want to get married, it's just that with how fast everyone's mentality is getting messed up about marriage, it might be really hard to find someone who would want to be in it for the long run with you. And one thing I do know for sure is that I'd prefer to be single and have kids of my own with my partner without getting married, rather than get married and then just have it all end with a divorce.

So yes, for now there's a higher chance of me getting married but all that could change at anytime, depending on how crazy the world gets because I'd rather spend my time on something else than go through all of that process of getting married only to regret it later.
