Just Write

avatar

As someone who tries to write at least once a day, you're bound to encounter writer's block every now and then (probably a lot more frequently than that). Usually, whenever I find myself struggling to come up with something to write, I would either give myself time and try not to force it, because often times, I found out that forcing myself to come up with something only makes it a lot harder.

So sometimes I go outside and just sit with my friends to talk, and before you know it, my brain will do its thing and I will find myself scribbling down some words. But you see, that doesn't work as often as I would love it to.

There have been times where I ended up with nothing even after sitting out with my friends. So I found myself going back to the drawing board to look for more effective ways to deal with this writers block. I remember going online to search for solution and on one article, I had seen someone say something about just picking up the pen to write, even when you have nothing to write.

You literally could start with anything at all, even something as dumb as "Hello, my name is prayzz and I have nothing to write about". Do it and watch your imagination take over.

I did this the first time and was awed by how effective it was, then I tried it for the second time and it still worked, I've been doing it ever since. Funny enough, I don't just do this only when it comes to writing, I apply it in different stuff in my life as much as I can.

There was this one time I and three of my friends decided we wanted to keep ourselves busy by each of us telling a story, any random story at all. When it got to my turn, I honestly had nothing to say, but rather than chicken out and not do it, I opened my mouth and started with "Once upon a time..."

By the time I was done, I ended up getting applauded by my friends. And to think that when I started, I had nothing to say. This is why it is always good to start first, or in this case, just write.

Inspiring point here @prayzz . When one tries to write forcefully, it most times becomes so harder.

As a writer we should always consider ourselves doing better when we are relaxed because this makes our thoughts 💭 focused and flowing.

Enjoy your weekend 🥰💕

Sometimes, forcing it isn't the way.. We just have to go with the flow or play around a little.

You're absolutely right—getting started is often the hardest thing to do. The way you start writing anything is a tried and tested method of many successful writers.

Have you ever written something that seemed difficult at first but turned out great? Or remember a time when you felt like you couldn't write anything, but ended up writing something great?

I did it a couple of times last week and I can do it right now if I want.. That's how effective it is for me. I also do it sometimes with my imagination, I just start a random story about myself in my head and before I know it, the story gets so interesting that even I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Unfortunately, the further I go with my imagination, the more I forget how I even started 😂.

It's true. Sometimes I also don't know what to write. I just start randomly few lines and it give me inspiration and automatically my writing follow a path. I think subconsciously various kinds of thoughts come to my mind and I just keep writing about it.
