IRRESPONSIBILITY

I've come to realize that I've got low tolerance for irresponsibilities. Maybe it's the way I was trained and brought up but I seriously hate to see a grown man or woman not being able to take care of things placed under their command.

Early this year, my hostel had gotten a new caretaker to oversee the hostel. I think the old caretaker was found guilty for theft and though she wasn't arrested or anything like that, she was asked to leave and a new person was given the role. This was someone none of us knew but during his first meeting with the occupants of the hostel, he had given every one of us the impression that he was the man for the job and we were all excited because with the new management, came certain advantages.

Anyways it's been nine months since this new guy took over and the hostel is about to be closed down. The reason for this is because a lot of people are complaining and I'm not just talking about occupants in the hostel, people from around are also complaining.

In the last nine months, the roof of the guys who live at the topmost floor got damaged, all of the water tanks in the hostel was blown away one time by a very scary wind and at the back side of the hostel, a big hole had appeared from no where. All of this crazy things are happening because of poor management.

Now the caretaker is suppose to be the mediator between the landlord and the occupants. He's suppose to be the one in charge of almost everything (if not everything) at the hostel whenever the landlord isn't around. But sadly, just like every other guy out there who don't know how to set their priorities straight, this young man doesn't even come around to check up on things at the hostel and when he eventually does, he spends the majority of his time flirting with ladies and trying to see if he could take any one of them home.

Whenever he comes around and I see how irresponsible of a man he is, it boils deep down in my heart and this is because his irresponsibilities happens to be affecting me directly. He doesn't live in the hostel with us (unlike the previous caretaker who did) so he doesn't know the struggle we have to go through when we run out of water, or when it rains and the water is dripping in your room, all because he's too big to come down here to see how bad things are.

The crazy thing is that no one is going behind him to snitch to the landlord, everyone has just decided to leave the hostel for a better one next year. If things go my way, I plan on not waiting till next year and leaving by the end of the year, but with the giant hole at the back of the hostel, I might leave sooner than that if something dangerous happens, something like someone falling into the hole and never coming back up.

That's not nice
I'm sorry but permit me to say that the owner of the house is also irresponsible. If he is responsible, he will come and check his house from time to time even though he trusts his caretaker.
No one will take care of your property just like the way you will do it

You might be right but the owner of the hostel doesn't stay around.. So he always comes around maybe twice a year to just have a look of the whole place.. The Caretaker is the one who takes care of everything.

It's a right but sad decision because I really don't want to leave but the condition of the place is giving me no other option.
