I Don't Like It Here
The life expectancy here in this country is around the age of 54, but to be honest, with the way this country is going, I feel it's a lot lower than that. Every day here is a struggle, and when you think about it, you just realize that everything is put to get you.
And by everything, I mean EVERYTHING. Sometimes, when I think about these things, it's a miracle how anyone even gets old in a country like this where nothing works or in a country where you're literally one bad luck away from spending the rest of your life behind bars or getting killed by herdsmen and unknown gunmen.
Seriously, it's a miracle how anyone survives in this shithole. The healthcare system is so bad that nowadays, unless you're rich, the only way you can get good healthcare is if your sibling is in the medical field and is treating you themselves; you can't even trust doctors to do the right things anymore.
Those people (doctors and nurses) have gotten so used to people dying that they don't even care anymore about human lives. You could actually be dying while they sit there having a laugh and then probably deny everything later when something goes wrong.
Nigeria isn't a real place. It's a miracle how anyone survives here. What's crazy is that most of us brag about how we've never been admitted to a hospital before, but the reality is that sometimes, our first time there could be our last time because nothing works.
People die unnecessarily over here every day, and no one cares. As long as it's not them or their loved ones, they don't care.
I can't even go out to sit peacefully these days because of the horror stories I keep hearing from people who got arrested illegally and spent some days at the station before finally gaining their freedom.
The other day, I was on the phone with my dad, telling him how I plan on finalizing whatever business I have over here in the East and just moving far away because it's quickly turning into something short of a war zone between us, the civilians, and these corrupt police officers.
This place is so scary, and it scares me how each day could literally be my last just because of one stupid reason or the other.
Nigeria is a big mess that's the main reason a lot of people are fighting to leave this country even when they are uncertain if the place they are headed to is even worse. It's just alarming how the masses have gotten so used to this level of pain that nothing feels new to them anymore.
If you can survive Nigeria,I believe you can survive anywhere
