How Do You Deal With Boredom?

I had woken up today a little bit earlier than I usually do and this was mainly because I had gone to bed the previous night upset, so that kind of messed up my sleeping routine and I just found myself tossing from one end of the bed to the other throughout the whole night.

When I woke up this morning, I started to feel a little bit better because I had decided to just forget about everything that got me upset the previous day and just go about my life like that never happened (if you can't deal with it, then don't let it trouble you).

So I had gone to get breakfast from an eatery down the street and after I was done eating, I got some job done with my computer but then that was it. I had nothing else to do for the next few hours and I got so bored. It's not usually this boring over here but today had been a little bit different, it was almost as if everyone went out and left me behind.

Now, an easy way to deal with boredom would have been to go out and have fun but doing that is really expensive especially due to the recent rise in the price of petrol, everything outside nowadays are usually times two their usual prices.

So going out wasn't a good option for me, I wanted something less expensive. The other thing that came to mind was to see a movie on my computer because I have loads of unseen movies there but the weird thing is that I actually do get bored when seeing a movie alone, and that is why I spend weeks seeing a movie that usually would take someone else three days to see. I suck at seeing movies alone and the same applies to reading.

I enjoy a good book but that doesn't mean I'm going to read all of it in a stretch, nope. Thirty minutes in and I'm probably looking for something else to do while leaving the book for some other time. I don't know if that's a problem with me but I really can't concentrate on one thing for long unless I'm doing that same thing with someone else or a group of people.

Seeing how I scratched out both reading and seeing movies in my book, I was left with just one last thing to do, to take a nap. I ended up sleeping for some hours and that was enough to take care of the boredom a little bit but then I couldn't help but feel like if I had to be awake to take a nap, I probably would have gotten bored of that too.

So I really need you guys help on this one, what is that fun, inexpensive thing you guys do when you're bored?

Hi @prayzz , I understand your inability to sleep well due to what got u upset. It happens to people, you are only a human but I am glad you have moved on with ur life.
Boredom is not really a joke but it's been pretty long I experienced it . I also do not like staying on reading alone for a long time, group reading was my thing until I graduated from the university but I can watch movies alone and sleep off so easily on the process.

Yea, the economy is high oo...so going out for fun is super expensive too

So next time when you feel bored, go out there, buy popcorn 🍿 and groundnut, be eating it and on the process, make a long WhatsApp call with a special person in ur life 😂...I am serious, I hope this helps ☺️👍

Popcorn and ground nut I can do but there's no "special one" for now, unless you're talking about my family.

Thanks for the tip though, I never really thought of popcorn and nuts 😂

yup, napping is one of the best remedy against boredom (it seems to passed when you are sleeping and goes awake once you wake back up)

Yeah it works but I feel like it's a boring solution.
