Now if there's one thing every one knows the country Nigeria is suffering from (aside from corruption), it's the lack of power supply and that is why people always make sure to get a generator for themselves because we all know that you're most likely going to turn on that generator everyday, it all depends on how often you need power supply.

The only problem though is that for you to own a generator, you also need to have money for petrol. Now that shouldn't really be a problem for a country like Nigerian seeing how we've got crude oil over here, so therefore petrol is expected to be available and cheap.

But nope, currently we're paying times two the amount per liter than we paid last year. The prices of petrol has skyrocketed and it's almost as if no one in power is doing anything about it probably because they don't pay for their own petrol. The price going high isn't the only obstacle we face when trying to get petrol, it's the long queue.

I remember when I was traveling back to school early this year, our driver had stopped to queue at this petrol station because according to him, their prices were a little bit cheaper than the others. We had remained in that queue for nothing less than three hours before it eventually got to our turn. I remember how restless I was, waiting on that queue. I would sit, stand, walk around and then sit again, it was terrible.

And at first we had thought it was going to be a one week thing or two weeks, but nope it's been getting to two months now and yet there don't seem to be any hope anywhere at things getting better.

I know coming here to rant wouldn't do anything because I already bought the petrol (I had no choice because I needed power supply) but if there's one thing we can do, it's to go get our Permanent Voters Card and please come out to vote this coming election.

It's obvious the current government doesn't care and thank God the president will be leaving the office in a few months time, but please don't let us go through this whole torture for another four years just because you voted another wrong person into power or because you refused to vote.

A lot of things are going sideways in this country and unfortunately, not all of us has the money to run to another country and start afresh, so I believe the least we can do is fight for this one by voting.

Go get your PVC and vote please.

The suffering is real in naija
We spent 13hours just to buy petrol at the filling station if not, we will continue to buy #500 per liter via Black market

This fuel scarcity has affected alot of things my dear... transport, food , it's just a mess

And yes, I have gotten my PVC
a good Nigerian citizen I am 😅

I wish many people will take action and vote the lesser evil..

13 hours? That's just crazy.
