Free Ride

A lot of things happen to us that our parents have no idea of. I personally feel my dad will be shocked if someone documented my life and played it for him because they were times when I really ran for my life out there in the street and then returned back home as if nothing happened.

Okay, I think saying I ran for my life is a little bit exaggerated but trust me, I did run and I’m about to tell you guys the story.

It all happened during one sunny afternoon. I was about eighteen years of age or there about so I wasn’t really a kid anymore. I had gone to pick some fruits with some friends of mine in a place a little bit far away from home. Of course my parents didn’t know about my whereabouts, my dad had gone to work and my mom was busy at her shop.

When we got to the tree where we usually pick fruits from, we noticed that the whole floor was empty, some other kids had gotten there before us and they had gone away with all of the good fruits leaving behind those ones that had been bitten by birds.

We had no choice but to turn back and head home with anger in all of us, it was on our way home that one of my friends decided he wanted to unleash his anger and unfortunately for me, he picked the wrong person to unleash it on.

Halfway home, we noticed this crazy bike man that was speeding down the road and just swerving from one corner to another almost as if he’s got nine lives. My friend watched and waited until the man was close enough before shouting out some abusive words at him. I remember all of us freezing for about five seconds as we watched the bike man slow down before making a sharp turn and started heading down our direction, that was when the race began.

Everyone of us ran like hell, everyone except the one person who had actually insulted the bike man. For some reason he decided not to run and the bike man, as if wanting to race, ignored him and chased after us. Unfortunately, I was the one he caught up with and then I started snitching like crazy even before he asked any questions.

I told him I wasn’t the one who insulted him and then he placed me on his bike and asked me to go show him the person. I remember sitting on that bike and just thinking “Is this how it’s all gonna end, me dying behind a crazy bike man”.

I directed the man to my friends house and as expected, my friend denied everything. He swore he never said anything and that was why he never ran. Of course his story was believable because “he would have ran if he was the one who insulted him” everyone around said.

At the end of the day, the people around pleaded on my behalf and the man left, driving like the mad man he is, not waiting for me to thank him for the free ride home.

😂😂😂😂, I can't imagine the speedometer in which you guys applied sha😂😂
But it's really unfortunate that you have to face the consequences of crime you didn't commit...
I think there is a big story here actually, running away from crimes you didn't commit sometimes isn't the best option, we need courage to stand and defend ourselves over what we aren't guilty about.
But seriously if I was in your shoes I would have done desame why because staying to defend yourself could result u not being able to convince him you're not the one and u will still get chastised and running now has also brought you bad luck well it's better to stand and fight your right whatever will happen let it happen cus running from it might end up being the same...🙏🙏🙏

At that moment, running away seemed like the best option. I still don't know what made my friend not to run because everyone else did.

I was so scared that I actually thought about jumping off the bike and running away but then I couldn't, this wasn't a movie.
