For the Love of The Game

You remember how we vow to stop a bad habit but always go back to it and then we renew our vow again after we’re done, that is how I feel right now. Although what I plan to stop isn’t a bad habit, it’s something that I love to do so much, it’s football.

Earlier this morning, my friends had called me to come with them to the field to play football. I happen to be someone who doesn’t joke with football and they know that. So I had followed them to the field and was having one of the best moments of my life with tragedy struck.

Which trying to get the ball I had somehow dislocated my knee. I had no idea how I did it but the plan had been to slide the ball away but I had somehow landed on my left leg and that was the end of today’s football for me.

The boys had tried to help in the little way they could by trying to straighten the leg a bit all in the hopes that I might continue playing but with the amount of pain I was feeling, I knew that was it, I won’t be playing football for a very long time.

Some few months back, I had also injured my self while playing and had vowed to myself never to play football again because of how excruciating the pain was and today I’m renewing that vow, though I know I will be breaking this vow few weeks from now when my leg heals and I’m good to run after the ball again.

What can I say, it’s the love for the game.
