First Time this Year

For the first time this year, I think I’m finally coming down with a sickness.

The last time I feel critically ill was sometime around last year or last two years (can’t really remember). The illness had been so terrible that I probably thought I was going to die. I had been so ill that I couldn’t even get up to go take a piss at my bathroom, I had to be carried everywhere.

If you’re from Nigeria, then you probably know that nothing will make a Nigerian person go to an hospital for treatment unless we were literally seeing the grim reaper face to face. So I had remained at home taking malaria drugs because over here it’s either malaria or malaria, there’s no other type of sickness over here.

After about a week of it not getting better, I finally decided to go see a trained nurse who placed me on drip and also gave me some injections before I finally got back on my feet. After that experience, I vowed never to fall that sick again. I made sure to take drugs at the slightest sign of a symptom even though the only thing I hated more than my ex was drugs, Lol.

Well today I woke up feeling a slight headache. I had thought it was nothing and was going to disappear before noon today but it’s currently past 10pm and I still feel it. And this is a problem because this is usually how it starts, a slight headache then I start feeling weak and the next thing I know, I no longer have an appetite to eat.

I really don’t want to take any drugs because I’m tired and I really hate drugs. I pray I will be fine when I wake up in the morning or I might end up forcing myself to go get drugs.

First time this year and it sucks.

I hope you get better when you wake up maybe the headache might be as a result of stress but if it persist, why not visit a laboratory and carry out some diagnosis at least to be sure of what you are treating ...instead of our usual Nigeria self medication on malaria 😀

I think is the best thing to do to avoid the situation being escalated .

Sorry about your health .

We can be one strong set of people that won't visit the hospital, till the illness get to us we all have that trait as a Nigerian
I hope you will be fine when you take up.
Stay strong champ.

because over here it’s either malaria or malaria, there’s no other type of sickness over here.

This got me laughing. No vex😂😂

Ensure you drink enough water. It might also be stress, from chasing the bag. And yh, why don't you go for a test in a laboratory. Self-medication is not advisable even though that's what most Nigerians including I do.

Last year, I was busy treating malaria not knowing that it was severe typhoid. I went to the laboratory for a test and ended up taking drip for the first time in my life🤧 3 IV drips, with 6 injections.

I wish you fast recovery though.

Going for a test in a laboratory is long overdue for me. I always say I will try to check my health once every three month in the lab but I never do.

Thanks for the advise by the way, I just pray I listen.
