Everything Connects
If there's one thing I've always loved about myself, it's how I always have something to contribute during any discussions being held. I've also come to notice that during an argument, I'm always the go-to guy for my friends whenever they want to know about something and not stress themselves by googling it.
Now to be honest, I didn't used to think much about these things because I felt it was just general knowledge but I soon realized that the only reason I know those things is not because of how educated I am, but because of a bunch of things that I didn't even think much of at the time, things like seeing movies and reading novels.
I remember the first time I found out that the Mona Lisa painting was being stored at the Louvre museum was when I read a novel from Dan Brown, the Robert Langdon series. And even the time when I had read about it, I didn't pay much attention to it, it was all just part of the story for me but having that information could end up being useful in the future or helping my friends out in an argument and while they all see me as the all-knowing fellow, they have no idea that the only reason I know that information was due to a book I had read for my pleasure and not me doing some "intensive research" online.
The same thing applies to my writing, some of the words I use today were not taught to me in school, some of them I saw in a movie or read somewhere randomly. Fortunately, my brain has its way of remembering the right thing at the right time.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that maybe seeing a lot of movies and reading a lot of novels might not entirely be a waste of time anyway, because no matter how much of a fiction that movie or book is, there's always going to be something in it that relates to the real word, something that might help you maybe pass an interview or an exam in the future. It could be a location of a certain place, or a type of food a certain country eats the most.
We all just have to try and make sure that when that time comes, our brain will be able to connect to these things and hopefully help us out.
Reading books and watching movies also one kind of way to king knowledge and no knowledge can be waste and I can relate with you because I also feel the same.
Exactly bro, you get it. Unfortunately not a lot of people look at it that way.
