Don't let your problems control your life

Except for little kids, I don't think there's anyone in this life who could boldly say that they've got no problems of their own. And that is because life will always come with it's challenges, but how we handle it is what differentiate the strong from the weak.

A friend of mine had returned from home yesterday and due to the poor condition of his home, he had returned with a huge frown on his face. The frown was so obvious that I overheard more than three different people asking him to smile as he walked upstairs with his bag to his room.

Usually when someone comes back from a journey like he did, everyone would want to say hi and basically just give you some sort of special attention, at least for that day. That's usually a sign that they've missed you, but due to the huge frown on my friends face, everyone just sort of gave him some kinda distance instead because they weren't sure of what was upsetting him.

So I had called him to my room to talk to him. I wanted to know his reason for the frown, maybe some new development had happened that I wasn't aware of. But after I was done talking to him, I found out it was the same old problem, he's just taking it a bit hard on himself because now he knows that he has to be there for his family too.

So I tried to talk to him to maybe cheer him up. You see, when he arrived, he had told me that he had no plans of participating in any social gathering or whatever anymore because he wants to think about his life and although that sounded like a good thing at first, it also felt like he was beginning to let his problems control him.

Just because you're passing through some difficulties in life doesn't mean that you have to cut yourself from the world, I believe that's how some people end up becoming suicidal because they're only surrounded with sad thoughts and the only people who can make them laugh are not there because they have chased them away.

The last thing I wanted was my friend ending up like that, so I had asked him to get dressed because we both were going out that night. My plan was to distract him a bit, at least for some few hours so that he could have some sort of positive energy around him before going back to his sad thoughts the next day.

Did it work? Yes it did because we laughed all through the night and the next day he was looking a lot better than the previous one. Unfortunately I can't always take him out for drinks whenever he's down with his thoughts, I will have to either help him look for a solution to his problems or just get another way to cheer him up when he's down.

But at the end of the day, the purpose of today's blog is to tell you guys to never let your problems control your life. You should always be in charge of the things happening like a boss, even if they're not exactly going your way.. And always remember to never give up, no matter what.

Wow! so educative, I will always remember to be a boss to everything i am feeling, you did so great in there, for cheering him up and not allowed him to be all by himself, in life's challenges comes at times, but it's good we stand up and fight for betterness, fight wrong thoughts also, from taking away our smile and continue moving with a loving heart, impressive 🥰🙏
