Do you believe in Witchcraft?

All over the world, and most especially in Africa, there has always been this huge debate about witchcraft and anything supernatural. Some people say that it's all just rumours and none of it is real while another set of people believe one hundred percent in it and some of them even claim to have had some personal experience.

Personally, I've never had any personal experience, neither have I seen anything extremely out of the ordinary to believe in all of the stories I've heard about witchcraft but for some odd reasons, I do believe in its existence (maybe its because I'm Nigerian). I've seen enough calabash laced with red cloths in my time to make me know that even if some of you don't think it's real, there are some people are there who do and they ain't joking about it.

Like I said, I've heard crazy stories about witchcraft, the latest one being the story a friend of mine told me this evening after I had asked him if he believed in the existence of witchcraft. He had wasted no time to give me his answer which was yes and when I asked him if he has had any personal experience with it, his answer was a bit disappointing (No) but then he told me a story about his dead grandma who had been buried at their home but somehow her grave opened up and a calabash came out of it. Now unless the grandma was cooking in the underworld or the upside down (for those who have seen stranger things), I see no reason something like that should even be possible if it's not some deep diabolical stuff. Also, I know the story might be a bit farfetched but then again, I do believe.

This story, along with some countless stories (enough to make a good horror movie) I've heard about witchcrafts and trust me they are enough to make me believe. And I know some of you might be like "You shouldn't believe it if it hasn't happened to you yet" which brings me to my question..

"Who will it happen to?" Because I know the God I serve and he won't allow anything like that to happen to me in Jesus name.

Anyways, I'm throwing the question out to you guys, do you guys believe in witchcraft and if you do, have you had any personal experience with it?

"Who will it happen to?" Because I know the God I serve and he won't allow anything like that to happen to me in Jesus name.

Have you ever wondered if the God you serve have delivered you from witchcrafts and their attacks whilst you slept and was completely unaware of what was happening?

Do you remember in the bible (2 Kings 6: 11 - 17) when Gehazi could not see the host of chariots that surrounded them when he was afraid because the King of Syria had sent chariots to bring Elisha to him?

Same way Elisha couldn't see those chariots is same way witches, demons, and other spiritual wickedness in high places cannot be ordinarily seen, hence believing in them is somewhat illogical.

But then if there is God and His angels then there is the Devil and his agents and it is these agents through diabolical means that perpetuates witchcraftcy.

I believe there's witchcraftcy because if there's light then ofcourse there's darkness.

Ephesians 6: 12. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

That scripture pretty well sums it all.

Okay first of all, I made that statement in other to lighten the mood of the whole post and add a bit of comedy to it.

Secondly, you answered the first bit of my question which was if you believed in the existence of witchcraft, but you didn't answer the second question..

Have you had any personal experience?

Pardon me if my response sounded too serious...it was all in the spirit of interaction.

I believe there was one time I felt like I wasn't as smart as I used to be in secondary school (I was putting effort oh!) and I cannot remember clearly but something weird had happened. I actually felt bewitched 🤣

My situation is exactly the same as yours, I do believe up to an extent but haven't experienced it personally. Its existence has been mentioned in my religion but prohibited to practice so from that religious belief I do agree with its existence, also A few close friends and persons I know have shared their personal experiences to face these, so somehow convinced.

The practice of these is getting extinct, a relief. But in rural villages, it's still practiced to acquire different desires. It's a very sinful activity, I just hate it, also I have a fear about these but whenever I remember my Almighty I get no fear. I do also believe that as long as we are true to our creator and ask for his blessings to keep us safe from these, nothing can harm us.

How would you feel if you ever get the chance to experience it yourself, Are you scared to experience it or not? I will never wish to experience these, some things are better not to get involved with, and this is one of them on my list.

Over here, a lot of people still engage in it actively.. Some even do it openly with no fear. Its scary I tell you.

How would you feel if you ever get the chance to experience it yourself, Are you scared to experience it or not?

I don't even want to think of it because I really don't want to experience it. This kind of things are best seen from afar.
