Do you?

So I've got one question for you guys today. This question is suppose to be one that requires a simple yes or no answer but for reasons, I have a feeling I will be getting more than that from you guys.

Now coming from somewhere like Nigeria, you will be amazed by a lot of things that the people over here do believe in. Some of them are just so outrageous that if you hear them for the first time, you will be shocked anyone will believe this things, but then they start to tell you stories, stories that will make you question everything you've ever thought you knew about that particular topic.

Like I said, it's a pretty straight forward question and it goes like this. Do you believe in witches? Do you believe that there are people out there who can fly all thanks to the help of some god or goddess?

Now if you're an African, most especially a Nigerian, I probably already know what your answer to this question will be. This is a country with the biggest churches in the world. A place where people will speak in tongues and pray fervently simply because there's an owl on their rooftop and they believe its a sign of something bad.

It's also a country where we have different gods and deities, the likes of Sango the god of Iron and Amadiaoha the god of thunder and the rest. Its almost like a Nigerian Marvel Cinematic Universe. The whole thing about this witch stuff, is the idea that they can fly. A lot of us believe it but then the more I think of it, the more unrealistic it seems to me.

And I know some of you even have bible verses to support your theory about this particular topic but please let's not do that today. I'm a Christian myself but today, I want a simple well thought out answer and not the one from the scripture. I want to hear your thoughts on it and not what you read from the bible.

If you've seen or had personal experiences too, I will love to hear it. As for me, I do believe that witches do exist, but the truth is that I haven't seen any for myself, everything I know about witches is from stories I've heard or books I've read. So I want to know if maybe there is someone who has had a personal encounter before.

Yes and No. I will explain.

I believe there are witched but then I don't believe they can get on a broom and fly like people say sometimes. But they exist. I've not seen a witch before but I've seen something close and each time I try describing what I saw to people they tell me I was lucky that thing didn't stop.

The most surprising part for me was I saw it as early as 7pm in the evening, I had just finished praying and was leaving the mosque. I wont lie it scared the shit out of me and the only thing I could do was stand and look at it walk away.

I think what scared me was because I didn't ever expect to see such thing and I hope I wont see one ever again.

Oh I didn’t add what I saw?😂

I saw a short creature, it’s legs where abnormal and kind of crooked ( like really crooked) . It’s hands were same and it looked really really weird. For some reason it seems I was the only one who could see it.

This is Savage. You're not nice😂

I've never had a personal encounter. I also have never attributed any occurrence to be he handwork of a witch(es). I only go with the society's testimony of their existence. I've only ever heard, read and watched about them, nothing more.

Although I've never really given a thought to their true existence, I am torn between taking the Bible's viewpoint and my own thoughts.

But, would you consider it weird that I do not believe they exist?
If I have to put away the Bible, then I'll say they don't exist. They seem like stories that have been passed down. More like superstitions.

I won't because I'm slowly leaning towards that direction myself. I just feel like in this modern day and age where technology is everywhere, they should be some proof somewhere about the existence of this things.

You get! At the very least, some sort of proof.
Maybe the witches have given up and chosen to move with the times. Like you said, 'Technology'. They've probably evolved.
