Childhood

Childhood is beautiful.

The time is currently 19:19pm as I write this and for some reason I find myself reminiscing about my childhood and about how free I was back then. Maybe it’s because of the fact it’s raining outside right now and I miss the days when I would play outside under the rain with my friends until we begin to feel the shivers deep in our body and then we run inside to go change our clothes and get warm.

Childhood for me was beautiful. I had a lot of beautiful times with both friends and family, times that I would give almost anything to go back to and experience one more time because the truth is that all the fun and peace of mind ended when we became adults.

I see the kids of today and there’s a part of me that feels so sad for them because they’re all trying so hard to grow up without really realizing that childhood happens just once and the moment it’s gone, it’s gone.

None of them play anymore like we used to back in the days. These days even kids as young as thirteen years old are already obsessed with making huge cash and becoming the next big thing. It’s a good mindset but for the wrong reason because most of them just want to be rich for the sake of it and end up doing some crazy things that only adults should be doing but then they also want to be seen as adults, so they do it anyway.

I remember back in the days, all I cared about was what game I and the boys will play the next day and now, it’s just one bill to another. It’s part of life I know but no one told me this was how it was going to be, if I had known, I would have appreciated my childhood more and enjoyed every bit of it more than I did.

Too bad it’s too late to do that now but then, not everything in adulthood is bad, so I better enjoy that now before I get old and start regretting all over again Lol.
