Broken Trust
How do you rebuild a broken trust?
We might not really think much about this question until we find ourselves in situations where we really need answers to it, then we will know how important the question itself is.
Lately, I've been finding myself in the middle of situations where two friends are having issues and for some reason they always have this believe that I'm the perfect guy to help them resolve such issues. It's a good thing because what it means is that they trust and believe in whatever it is I say to them and I respect them for that. The downside to all of this though is that I get no one to talk to myself because everyone confiding in me has made me unable to confide in anyone else and I don't know why.
Anyways, today's problem has to do with trust. You see, one thing prominent in every hostel is students messing around and this is mainly because a lot of them don't get as much freedom at home as they do in school, so when they go to school, they live a life they've never lived before and one of those involves dating and cheating like it's nothing because they can.
People over here end relationships like they're changing clothes. It's almost like they're all in a competition to see how much people they can date before their four year course comes to an end. But don't get me wrong, there are those who try to maintain one relationship and make it last for as long as possible but they also fall to temptation every now and then and this was the situation this certain friend of mine was in.
His girlfriend (who also is a friend of mine) had caught him cheating but this was way back (about three months ago), they had a little fight over it and didn't talk to each other for a while but now they were over it and are now back together. The problem the dude is having now is that his girlfriend doesn't trust him.
She questions everything he does even if he goes out to hangout with the boys. He doesn't like the behavior but can't complain because he knows that he brought it upon himself. He recently came to me to ask me a question though. It was a straightforward question that I didn't have a straightforward answer to.
He had asked me how he could rebuild his trust with his girlfriend so she can stop questioning his movement because according to him, he's a changed man. So tell me guys, how do you rebuild a broken trust?
