Bible School

There are a lot of habits (or things that we get used to), things that we pick up from different places while growing up that we don't even know of until we start exhibiting those habits or characters ourselves at different time and places. And some of these characters or habits can be good ones or bad ones.

Today I had woken up feeling a bit different and wanting to try something new, so I had decided to attend a new church today. I had picked a church inside my school and had quickly gotten dressed up for the service because I had no idea about the time the service was starting or ending. When I got there, it turned out I had gotten there on time so I quickly took a seat.

About an hour into the church service, the sermon began and all of a sudden I felt like I was at an amateur church. I looked around and I could see some people were really flowing along with what the man of God was preaching but for some reasons to me, it felt like the man wasn't prepared enough and he had gotten on the altered with a half prepared sermon.

This wasn't exactly a surprise to me because this isn't the first time I'm experiencing something like this and if you ask me, I think I feel this way due to the fact that I was born and brought up in the church, so all my life, I have seen some really good men of God give some really powerful sermon that could make the devil repent if he was present at the church.

And so due to all of that childhood experience, I had unconsciously set the preaching bar too high for most men of God that they end up not being able to cross it. Sadly, everytime I feel this way, I find myself dozing off or trying to do something else to distract myself so that I can stay awake and not fall asleep.

This is why I feel that most men of God have to go to bible schools first to be properly trained before deciding to open a church to lead people. Because times without number, it has been proven that experience is the best teacher and the best way to get experience in preaching is going to a bible school.

I agree with you because their words is capable enough to create huge impact on other people and one wrong statement of them can made so bad impact that I have seen some incident in my country. So I think they need to be expert in their field and they should need to be careful in case of saying anything.

Exactly.. It's just like an unprofessional therapist giving therapy to someone who really needs help. If you tell them the wrong thing, they will do the wrong thing.

If a sermon is not interesting or making sense, people tend to feel sleepy. This happens to almost everyone though. You can try other churches in your school

At one point, I also was feeling sleepy.. Had to look for something to distract myself. Luckily for me, this isn't really my church so I won't be going back there again.
