Another Day, Another Story

I've said this before and I will say it again.. Sometimes we don't realize how serious a situation could have gotten, simply because that tragic thing never happened.

A while back, I had seen a coursemate of mine who had recently been involved in a incident. According to him, on one evening while his generator was on, he had attempted to add more gasoline into the generator without turning it off first, and the whole thing had exploded, critically injuring one of his legs.

He spent months going through unbearable pain while treating the injury. Luckily for him, it was just his foot that caught on fire, and not his entire body. Although he still carries the scar up till this day.

Now the reason why I remembered this incident was because of a conversation I had with someone today about something that also happened to us a while back. You see, I and my neighbour had visited a friend of ours. We had gone to his place to hangout for a bit and we had taken some gasoline with us because we knew there wasn't any power supply and we needed electricity.

When we got to his place, we had poured the gasoline into his generator and were all chilling in his room only for the generator to go off about two hours later which was a bit strange, because the gasoline we bought was suppose to have lasted for nothing less than seven hours, if not more.

But we came to the conclusion that maybe the gasoline we bought wasn't a good one, so we had gone to a different petrol station and bought another gasoline, only for the generator to go off again after some few hours. By this time, it was already getting late so we decided to take it as a sign for us to start going back home, and we did.

We got up and left, only for my friend to text me later that night, telling me that the reason the gasoline was getting exhausted faster than usual was because the entire time we were there, the gasoline was leaking from the generator.

We didn't realize it at the time but what that meant was that if the gasoline had leaked towards the wrong direction, that entire situation could have been a devastating story all on its own because it probably would have exploded.

Again, when he told me about the leak, I didn't take it serious because nothing tragic happened, but now that I think about the entire situation, I can't help but thank my God that we had gotten out of that situation unscathed.

Man, sorry to hear about eating injury. People should be more aware of the stuff they use. Most people just use stuff and they never look back on taking care of them. Talk about regular maintenance, they just never do it. Until we realize it after the fact. I have similar experiences like this on a national scale. Reason he in my country a military training jet crashed onto a school. children died. After years of negligence and corruption from all branches of the nation.

That something terrible hasn't happened to you doesn't mean it can't happen.

This is why we need to prioritize safety always, it was God that protected you and your friends, because that was a dangerous situation, I have heard alot of terrible experiences due to that careless act.

Thanks for sharing.
