You know how they say that everything that happens is God staring us into the right path that he wants for us. Well, some couple of days ago, I had a funny conversation with a friend that got me thinking about this same thing.

That day, myself and that friend were watching the Premier league in my room and he had pulled out his phone because he wanted to go on his sport betting app to place some bets, but each time he tried to place the bet, he got interference from the service provider and that made it almost impossible for him to place his bet. So he had given up and made the famous statement I'm sure every Nigerian is familiar with. He had said "Maybe it's a sign from God for him not to place this bet".

What he said made sense for at least a second, but then I thought about it and asked him a question, one that made him see things differently. I had asked him what if it wasn't God preventing him from placing that bet, but the devil instead, because he knows that he would win that bet and doesn't want him to. Saying that was more than enough reason to get him to change his mind and give the bet another try.

But you see, for some reason I couldn't stop thinking about what I had said to him. Does everything happen the exact way God wants it to or does the devil manipulate things from time to time.

Another reason why I'm asking this question was because some few years ago, while I was still in the childrens department in a church I was attending for the first time, something had happened that I thought at the time was God helping me. You see, the tutor at the children's department was asking us individually what bible verse we read throughout the week.

Everyone were busy saying yes that they read something the previous week, but you see, because this was my first time in the church, I had no idea that we had to read any bible verse but due to the fact that everyone was saying that they did, I decided to lie and say yes too when I was asked.

But instead of the tutor to move over to the next person, he had stopped and told me that he knew I was lying and asked again if I read any bible verse, to which I maintained my initial answer because at this point, saying something different and telling everyone that I was a liar was the last thing I wanted to do.

Anyways, in order to prove me wrong, the tutor had asked me to mention the bible verse I had read and also tell everyone what it's all about. But just as I was about to open my mouth, someone called him and asked him to help assist in some prayers. That prayer lasted until the end of church and that was how I had escaped that embarrassment.

I remember going home that day, thanking God for saving me but now that I think about it, was it really God or was it the devil who helped me escape that situation, escape that lie?

I will really like to hear y'all thoughts on this matter, so please leave a comment below.

Haha 😆😂, I can't say if it's God or devil in your case...I will say you are just lucky to escape that cooked embarrassment over there, haha 😂

Does everything happen the exact way God wants it to or does the devil manipulate things from time to time.

Devil do manipulate sometimes but as a human being, we are so reluctant sometimes, thinking that things should happen by default. Just like the story of your friend above, he should have kept pushing and not stopping at first trial

Hehehe you're probably right, I got lucky.

So I guess what you're saying is that it's not all God all the time, some times it's the devil playing tricks?

Thanks for the gift, Nkem.

Complicated to answer. It's depends on you. Thinking positive is good and so we think about god. I guess it's the possible answer of it.
