A Day Outside

For the first time in a long while, I finally decided to get out of bed and go out.

A friend of mine had called me some few days ago to tell me about his plans to travel down to his village to go give them some soda for an event that would be happening few days from now. He was in search of anyone who had a vehicle that he could use to transport the drinks with and I happen to know a guy, so I had linked them up and after they both negotiated the price for the journey, I decided to tag along.

Our first stop had been the Nigerian Bottling Company, also famously known as Coca-Cola. My friend happens to be a staff there and that was where he had stored the drinks he would be transporting. Myself and the driver had waited about an hour at the car park before we were eventually allowed into the plant to pick up the drinks. I had asked my friend what caused the delay and he had explained to me that there were due process that had to be followed for him to move the drinks out of the plant and that was what delayed him.

I had no idea if taking pictures of the plant were prohibited so I had taken this few ones in a hurry and rushed back into our vehicle before anyone catches me, then our real journey began.

The journey had taken about an hour and half, which probably would have been half that time if it weren't for the occasional traffic that we met on our way there, although the location of the village itself was far far away, it felt like I was traveling to a whole different country by road.

On getting to his village, we had seen some children masquerades that I would have loved to take pictures of, but these guys never stay still for the perfect shot and not wanting to make them notice me taking a picture of them, I decided to forget about it and just take pictures of the road instead. The last thing I wanted was having to pay a certain amount of money just because I took pictures of a sacred masquerade or whatever.

By the time we got to his home at his village, I was so exhausted and hungry to the extent that I forgot everything concerning taking pictures and just reserved my energy until someone eventually came to our rescue and gave us some food. After which we offloaded all of the drinks we came with and headed back home. By the time we got back, it was already past 4pm and all I wanted to do was freshen up and just rest because it's been a while I went on a long journey like this one.

Although I enjoyed every bit of it and was glad I chose that over sitting at home doing nothing.

It is just like that when a person goes to such places, one gets to learn many good and bad things and the way you are telling here that the people here were working very hard for this company and Used to wait for hours when things are completed then the product is sealed in the market.
