2009

2009, that is the birth date of Bitcoin, and with that, the start of a new era of finance, the Crypto Era. The ride has been bumpy, but quite astonishing. Right now, the crypto market has a market capitalisation of over 2 trillion USD.
But what is more important, is the era traditional money has been in, in the meanwile. Since 2009 we have only known periods of quantitative easing, low interest rates and low inflation (at least officially). But now, things are changing. The inflation is getting higher, and the central banks are planning, or at least talking about tapering the money printing and will eventually have to raise interest rates to try to ease the inflation.

The big question now is, what will the impact of that be on cryptocurrencies?
My guess is, it will raise them higher than ever, because inflation scares people, and they will try to find an alternative that has no inflation. And high interest rates maybe attractive to some, but in fact they only a band aid to taper the loss of inflation. I predict that the true rise of crypto will come once the central banks stop the money printing. It will be epic!
