I gave Appics another try, weird place!
Instagram of the blockchain?
Appics was marketed at the start as the Instagram of the blockchain. It used to be on the Steem blockchain but then it crossed over to EOS to eventually get landed at the the Telos blockchain.
I used to crosspost photography on Steem and Appics, so I created a small stake of APX, which used to call XAP. Yep, a lot has happened since the launch. I have not been active on Appics in over a year, but since a few weeks I decided to give it a try again. As I love photography, and it is very easy to post.
Low price, no volume
One APX is currently worth around 0,00207 $, which is a long from it’s all-time high at 0,93 in the last quarter of 2021. But that is not the biggest problem, there just is no volume of buying and selling. In the last 24 hours, 7 USD worth of APX was traded.
And still, I decided to start posting again. Just for the fun of it. Not much chance that APX will go 10X or 100X in the next few years. For that, too much
tokens are in a few whales hands, which are all in the “marketing team”, so they rake in the most rewards.
But, I don’t care, I will keep on posting on the damn chain, because I believe there’s a need for this kind of app. And since there are no alternatives, I will keep on posting my photos there…
And maybe, I become a millionaire! 😂
Sincerely,
Pele23
There are things i love and hate about appics but i prefer it to Instagram and that is why i use it. i use it in hopes one day it comes to hive or does something truly amazing
What about using liketu?
How does that work, do you get paid extra tokens for posting?
No, you don't. What you do with extra tokens on Ecency?
Boost my posts with the Ecency points
They don't even by 150 points recently.
liketu is like instagram on Hive, I met the founder in Amsterdam last year, he dont believe in making a new token like on LasseCash...
I think appics got a lot of funding from Steemit inc, it looks like a money grab from those 4 young people to me.. I never used it, LasseCash never got any funding what so ever and still here.
Posted using LasseCash
But unlike LasseCash they actually had projects that added utility to the blockchain and didn't try to gatekeep new users because the new users didn't share their mindset.
