Hive is literally changing lives, financially and emotionally!

More than a months wages in rewards

Below this text you will see a transcript of my account from Hivestats.io. I wanted to check how much my account is raking in weekly and monthly at the current Hive prices. You have to know that my account had an average of 16000 Hive Power the last 30 days. This brought in 95.60 Hive in curation rewards and 85.48 Hive in posting rewards. Calculated in US Dollars at the current exchange rate of 2.71 $, that is just shy of 500 USD per month. Which I find awesome, off course, but there is more I want to say about that.

I live in Western Europe, life is very expensive here, an normal average house costs around 350k USD here, and the average net wage is around 2100 USD per month. Some regions in Asia and the US and Canada are probably even more expensive, but there are tons of places in the world, where 500 USD is a monthly wage, or even more than that. For me this extra residual income is very welcome and I see it as a back up retirement plan, but for some people this kind of money literally changes their lives. Their income can double or triple, just by blogging and curating. They can have a much more relaxed life because of that. Their children can have a better future. This is just an amazing achievement by a decentralized project in which the users get better by being active on it. And the community rewards active people, at least if their content is good.

I am so content that this is happening, because think about it, this can contribute, even if it is just a little bit, to the redistribution of capital in the world. And make the less fortunate a little more fortunate. Which is more than most NGO's achieve by expensive programs. Consider that when you are curating, and it will make you feel even better!

Sincerely,

Pele23

Living in Romania, HIVE at nearly $3 is like a charm.

I live in a small city in neighboring Bulgaria. The average net salary here is between 500-600 Euro. So, if you earn 500 on HIVE you will be OK.

@pele23, congratulations on your achievement in the HIVE ecosystem! And, good luck 🤞 and enjoy your journey on HIVE.

p.s. what is the site your use for the stats? Also, I have noticed that mamy people, including some of the witnesses, have started to power down, and are probably going to sell their HIVE. What do you think about it?

Well, I kind of suspected that would happen, and it isn’t necessarily a bad thing, lesser huge whales, more smaller accounts can only be good for the ecosystem, but it can effect price in the short run

👍 Thanks. I was expecting this as well. And, my point of view is absolutely the same to yours. This process will futher intensify the decentralization. Let's see what happens with the price in the short term. It may become very volatile.
