Has “The great rotation” set in from big tech to small and mid caps?
Magnificent seven dropping
The Magnificent Seven, the seven huge companies that have grown exponentially in the last few years, like Amazon, Nvidia, Meta, Alphabet, Microsoft, Netflix and Apple have lost between 5 and 10 % in the last week.
More broadly, Nasdaq has lost a trillion dollar in market capitalisation in a few days. It just kind of evaporated!
The Great Rotation
Some stock market gurus refer to this moment as the tim when the “Great Rotation” sets in. This when the money flows from the mega caps to the small and mid cap stocks. Due to several reasons.
First of all, the high valuation of the big tech stocks.
Second, the foresight of dropping interest rates, which is a lot more of impact for the smaller companies.
And lastly, the expectations of the profits for those companies are immense…
This could be a huge shift on the stock markets and a very interesting situation for the investors.
Same for crypto?
This could also fuel a shift in crypto trading from the big ones, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana… to the altcoin markets. And create an amazing run for the alts like Hive is one of them!
Very interesting times ahead of us!
Sincerely,
