Getting more Hive Backed Dollar by holding liquid Hive!

Power down 10 or 15 %?

It's a tricky subject, especially with all the HPUD vibe being around the last year. But another Hivean @galberto wrote an interesting post about it a few days ago. And he has a very decent point. For 2 reasons:

    1. When Hive pumps, it is very interesting to have some Hive liquid or ready to become liquid. As the 13 week power down window is very long, and a pump of could be long gone by then. So having a 10 % powerdown ready for the week, is actually really interesting, even more if you have it liquid already. You can sell it for HBD immediately, if Hive is moving up strongly.
    1. Having liquid Hive is very interesting to play into the swings of the market. When Hive moves up, you can sell it for HBD, and by Hive back later if it goes down again. The profit you have in HBD, which you can put into savings, and earn more HBD on. I never thought of that interesting way of growing your account, as I have always been powering up, to make my vote as high as possible. But it is actually a great way to be able to make extra Hive Back Dollars. Or extra Hive, if you are more interested in that.

A trial with 2500 Hive

As my account is now 25000 HP big, I will try it with 10 % of my stake. It won't influence my vote power hugely, and it still will give me some gun powder to grow some extra Hive Backed Dollars.
I know it's not a popular thing to do, but we are all here to make an extra buck, right? At least I am!

Sincerely,

Pele23

It is always reasonable to hold some liquid HIVE or HBD for price pumps.

naaa just buy pHEX and make a staking ladder, will probably do another 1000X/10000X like it did already (I promoted HEX day 1 and it did 10000X in 2 years.). pHEX is very cheap now and I will eat my hat if it does not outcompete Hive again (hive been sideways for 7 years good luck with that).

Lasse still can't face the fact that HEX was a scam and Richard Heart is currently being sued for the scam by the SEC. Just pathetic.

Yes when Hive does eventually move this is how you can grow your Hive account and I am eyeing up when Hive is above $3 or $5 or whatever it is next time around as the swings are massive. If HBD is back at 10% APR it does not matter as growing your Hive account should be the real focus.

You have also rightly stated that one should have some liquid hive so that if the market pumps then one converts them and as soon as the market lowers again then one buys again.
