Bitcoin has become mainstream

I almost choked on my breakfast when I saw the title of an article in the biggest Belgian newspaper, Het Laatste Nieuws. It was about "one of the richest men in the world", Satoshi Nakamoto. I was baffled, if you would have said this to me 5 years ago, I would have laughed and told you were a lunatic. But it is a fact, Bitcoin has become mainstream, and the approval of the Bitcoin ETF's was the last step to that.

But the article wasn't just about Bitcoin, it was about its "inventor", Satoshi Nakamoto and the search for him or them, that has been unsuccesul until now. Which is really peculiar, up until a few months ago, Bitcoin and other crypto always came with a warning in this newspaper, because of its volatility, and the fact that "nothing is backing it". So, suddenly the newspapers are interested in who and what is behind this crazy internet money phenomenon. Of course they didn't get any further than a brief history of the Japanese-American IT consultant, Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto and a reference to Craig Wright who claimed he was Satoshi, but couldn't provide the proof.

It doesn't matter

If you ask me, it is probably a hacker or supernerd IT collective that created Bitcoin, but really, does it matter? Not to me! The fact is that it is changing finance and the internet for good. Baby steps at a time, but that is good. Eventually the cryptospace will really be an alternative to the FIAT economy. With overlap here and there, and of course bridges, but it will make the influence of the central banks smaller and smaller in the future, and that is really what "Satoshi Nakamoto" intended with the creation of Bitcoin.

Now, let us only hope that Hive and Leo may make a huge part of this disruption!
