This is all well and fine but ... what about sustainable battery life cycle? Including horrendous amount of energy and materials wasted in battery production? This is somehow omitted from the equation.

True, you have a decent point there, but sadly the EV is pushed so hard by governments all over the world, that the environmental part seems unimportant for them.
The cobalt mines in The Congo that are a death trap for kid slaves is definitely one of the horrendous parts of the equation!
