Club World Cup lacks a lot of attendence

Expensive tickets

The FIFA Club World Cup promised to be the highlight of this sports summer. At least if we had to believe Gianni Infantino, the FIFA president.

But the reality is a whole lot different. Except for a few exceptions, like the games of Boca Juniors, Flamengo, Inter Miami or Real Madrid, most of the games are played in front of an almost empty stadium. Like this photo of the 1/8th final between Benfica and Chelsea.

The biggest reason for this is the ticket prices, some were over 500 USD for a first round game. And then there is the format that is completely new, but unknown for the fans. And especially the American fans. The stadiums are just too big for the American interest.

A miscast by Infantino by doing this in the USA!
The money completely blinds the FIFA bobo’s, but the fans are forgotten, sadly!

Sincerely,

Pele23

I'll say it again USA is not a footballing nation. I wonder how they'll manage hosting the World Cup

While I live in this country this is going by mostly completely unnoticed by the local population. I think it would fare much better in other countries but as much as we pretend to once every 4 years, the US just doesn't really have much passion for this sport. No offense to the sport or the Americans, it just isn't a good mix.

Sure , football in the US is like the Sahara desert in Australia, they are not a good mix, football to USA is rugby, basketball or an 100 meters race, the passion for football around this part of the world is up to about 20%.
