Banks now check your CO2 footprint!
Why?
I got this receipt from a friend of mine who received this bank statement from his banking institution. They gave him a separate out print of all his transactions and what CO2 impact they have.
Now, you could ask yourself the question what the bank has of interest in this? And why they put time, money and effort in this statement.
This is in my opinion a start and it is just a step-up to a carbon budget, which will be checked and controlled by your bank…
A devestating and dystopian future if you ask me!

This is the start and another reason why they do not want cash. This was bound to happen especially if you live in Europe and bank there. You could always move your account outside the EU or open a secondary one to remove the carbon spending.
