Another traditional club disappears, farewell Vitesse Arnhem!
Sub top club
Vitesse Arnhem has always been a football club that I followed. Even though I am Belgian, Dutch football interests me. And Vitesse Arnhem has always been a sub top club in the Netherlands. Where even Mason Mount once played, and Nikos Machlas or Pierre Vanhooydonck.
But since Roman Abramovitsj sold the club in a rush and left them with 150 million euros of debt it went downhill fast. Points deduction in the first league of Holland made them relegate to the second division, and even there they finished last due to point deduction and too much debt.
Now, the club is declared bankrupt and will not start the season in the second Dutch division.
Another traditional club disappears because financial mismanagement. Sad sad story!
Sincerely,
